Glasgow cityscape with cyclist crossing the Clyde
πŸ”§ Built in Clydebank since 1998

Three ways to ride.
One place they call home.

City commuters. Gravel obsessives. Adaptive riders who’ve been ignored by the industry for too long. Whatever puts you on two wheels β€” or three β€” we build bikes for the way you actually live.

Three lines. Three worlds. One family.

Every rider deserves a bike built around their life, not someone else’s idea of what cycling should be.

Gravel

Built for the roads that don’t exist yet.

Handbuilt performance for riders who take their gravel seriously. Custom geometry, obsessive attention to detail, and the kind of ride feel you’ll bore your mates talking about.

Adaptive

Every body. Every ride. No compromise.

Custom-built bikes and trikes for disabled riders. Families, therapists, schools, charities, and adults finding their way back to cycling after stroke, amputation, or injury. This is cycling’s most underserved community, and we’re here to change that.

Industrial workshop with bikes being assembled

Started with one shop on Kilbowie Road. Still here.

Iain McBride opened Clydebank Cycles in 1998 with five staff, a rented unit, and an opinion about how bikes should be built. Twenty-seven years later, the opinions haven’t changed β€” just the range of people we build for.

The gravel line started because Iain couldn’t find a bike he actually wanted to ride. The adaptive line started because a dad walked in and asked if we could modify a trike for his son. We said yes. We’ve been saying yes ever since.

Adaptive cycling deserves better than an afterthought.

Most bike companies treat adaptive cycling as a footnote. A charity case. A PR exercise. We think that’s rubbish.

Every adaptive build starts with a conversation about what the rider needs β€” not what the catalogue says is available. We work with families, occupational therapists, schools, charities, and individual riders to design bikes and trikes that actually fit their lives.

  • βœ“ Custom builds for individual riders
  • βœ“ Institutional and fleet orders for schools and charities
  • βœ“ Consultations with therapists and healthcare teams
  • βœ“ Modifications to existing bikes and trikes
  • βœ“ Ongoing support and adjustment as needs change
